Default AEAD 200LE Burning my coil whats the problem.

I have a AEAD 200LE, the machine works good but now it's burning out the coil. Does anyone know or have any idea what could it be. Thanks

    As in ignition coil?

Flashing diode failed closed allowing high voltage feedback into ignition circuit when running?

Using a coil that requires a resistor without a resistor?

yes ignition coil when you say resistor is that a breaker mechanism and the circuit is this the Idle/Control circuit broad or the regulator circuit broad.

You'll be looking for diode D4 shown in the wiring diagram in this manual http://www.millerwelds.com/om/o411j_mil.pdf on page 22. D4 is located in the engine wiring harness coming from the ON/OFF ignition switch.

Did you check to see what voltage you have at the coil (+) post when the unit was still running?

Maybe a failed battery charging regulator too. Again, check voltage at the coil/battery with the unit running (if it still does).

You could always power the coil off a seperate battery to assure it gets the correct voltage while doing your voltage reading troubleshooting. If you do, you'll have to check machine voltage at the ON/OFF ignition switch or on-board battery rather than the coil.

So this is how it happen the first time the ignition coil went bad and i replaced it the machine started. now when the rheostat went bad i replaced it and started welding again. As i was working with the machine it dead out like the first scenario with the ignition coil. Ok do you have a pic. of the D4 diode that would help a bunch and also of the battery regulator. Thanks

Have you confirmed you have the correct coil? 12V that does not require a resistor?

This is an example of what flashing diode D4 would likely look like but yours is supposed to be concealed in the harness.

Sorry. Don't have any of a voltage regulator.
