Skid steer boom attachment project.
I looked at buying a boom attachment for my skid steer but thought it would be easy enough to build and I could do my own design.
Bought a blank 3/8" bobtach plate and 7ft or 4X4X.250 tube and welded it at a 45 degree angle to the plate. Then closed in the sides and top to add strength as well as 2 of the 2X2X.188 tube braces. I have a heavy 1/2 inch thick lift plate on the bottom and a 2 inch reciever for trailer drawbars on the top. Also built a 13ft 3X3X.250 piece and attached a 3 ft gantry to that at an angle. With the 13ft tube inserted into the 4X4 I have 24ft of lift and can lift 500lbs out at the far end. So I could lift rafters up to that height etc. One
of its first jobs will be putting a new diesel motor in a friends sailboat where that reach is needed.

Can you really lift 500 pounds from that boom extension without lifting the back tires?

That is pretty sweet if I was at work I would take pictures of some of the skidsteer attachments I have made. Now all you need isto fabricate some removeable counter weights.
