Chipper & skidder

I did maintenence work on a track chipper. Basically repair any cracks I find, build up knife pockets & chute behind the pockets. I just try to do the welds on each pocket an even amount to keep it balanced. I haven't had a problem in the past. This time I had to build up inside the disc housing. Here is the skidder blade that I started on. It's just hanging from the skid steer here. Got it cut apart & cleaned up. Mainly just the edge area, not to bad once all the bad stuff is removed. More pics soon. Going back today.0424031358.jpg0424031401.jpg

Here is the finished pics. Didn't get to take any till I was leaving. I wanted to get some better ones but as soon as I was done they had me doing some other stuff while they put it back on the skidder. Customer is happy. 1" x 6" hot rolled flatbar for the edge & the bottom. The old pcs. were 3/4" flat bar over the original edge & they lasted some 15 yrs. so these should last a long time.
