I've got a lead on a Hobart Tigwave 250 that I can have for next to nothing, needs leads. Never done any TIG but have wore out a few MIG's . Can any one offer any advice about this machine, good, bad,or ugly? Thanks!

now a Thermal Arc Tigwave 250
Nothing the matter with that machine ..it is a square wave chopper... about equivalent to Sync 250 of the same vintage... makes an excellent tig machine... I bought one new about 17 years ago and still have it as a backup machine..... (all 375lbs of it)
When Miller bought Hobart... they divested themselves of some Welder models... and the manufacturing facilities.... So Thermadyne bought that line and the rights to manufacture...
it is now a Thermal Arc Tigwave 250... here is a link to the Manual

it looks like they have discontinued that model...Last edited by H80N; 12-01-2011 at 06:31 PM. Reason: clarity..
