I have the hole in the fork. My shop is at my house in a rural area, and it is just me, so I don't worry about it. My forks will flip up, which is why I had the issues. The point of me telling you about the jack staying down, is that when you drive into a dip with the forklift, the forks tilt down, causing the jack to potentially touch the ground, which is what caused one of my issues.

I understand the jack issue. I just raise the forks up when I'm moving so the jack clears any terrain.
