bucket modification

Started to work on this bucket. It was made for 80 mm pins going to modify it for 70 mm pins. Weld it up and line bore it out to size.
Weld with flux core .045 suitcase welder of bobcat 250.
Not great but I am getting better.
4 hours of burning wire later am almost ready to start the boring process.

The existing bores had about 1/8 out of round on them. I also considered making new bushings to replace the inner and outer welded on bushings and boring the center plate to a press fit but it dosent take long to build up 5mm per side. Due to the fact that i would still need to line bore it to get the thing round and over sized. Plus we really dont have any time to spare on either of the two lathes both are burried with work.

With flux core you might not notice it but the proper way to line bore is to take a intial bore pass of .125 off the bore then begin welding. Also pay attention to the hardness of the base wire, espically in a boss which does not hold a bushing and will be exposed to an even harder chromed pin.
