millermatic 211 250volt 20 Amp to stove outlet 250 volt to 50amp

HI, I have a millermatic 211. It comes with twist on adapters for both 120 volt and 250 volt. I've been running it on 120 volt but I would like more power.
There's an existing 250 volt outlet in my garage. It's a four prong 250 volt 50 amp outlet made for a conventional stove. And my miler is a three prong 250v 20 amp.
My question is would it be safe to make an Adapter/extension chord and plug in my millermatic to the stove outlet. being that my miller is 250v 20 amp and the outlet reads 250v 50 Amp.
Just want to make sure this is safe and that it won't fry my equipment.

Your 211 should have a MVP adapter that has 4-prongs. The actually adapter plugs have the 115V or the 220 V plugs that are standard 3-prog grounded.

You can make a short adapter socket box to convert from the 4-prong outlet to the standard 3-prong with no problems. Just check with your local Electrical supply and get yourself a good heavy gauge cable and box

You can use a 12 cord or better, considering the cost of ends I might buy or find appliance pigtail and put a 6-50-R on the end. I think the 211 uses a 50A for the 240. A question is do you need the stove outlet anymore? If not change it out. Put the one that matches a machine you do use.

I have a buddy with 4 Vetts and i take my MM185 to his shop to weld on the frames. We just pull out his kitchen stove and plug in my pigtail that matches his range plug and my welder plug on the other end. Guess when you own 4 vetts some cable and a box to the garage must cost too much LOL...Bob

The 211 manual says 24.3 amps at rated output when using 220 volts.

Thanks for the tips. Pulled an old chord out of a burnt out stove and I'm going to head out and pick up a 6-50R tmw.
