It is worth the time to find the kind of receptacle that fastens directly to the cord, it looks like a plug but female. The kind that looks like a box to be mounted on the wall can be used, but it is not as durable.

I got one; Hobart brand. Kind of a tight fit but I can make it work. I end up with an adapter/extension cord of about 6' which will work just fine. Just can't dry and weld at the same time
