    Default xmt 304 TIG setup

Hello, I'd like to do some simple aluminum TIG welding with this. Can anyone recommend an inexpensive setup for the 304 to get me started? I'm assuming the shielding gas connects to a fitting right at the power lead connection at the 304. I'm new at this.

    Default XMT304/Aluminum

You can't tig weld aluminum with an XMT304. Tigging aluminum requires high frequency AC. The XMT is DC only as I recall.

    Good luck with that.

    That is not true.

AC is not required to GTAW weld aluminum nor is a high frequency generator.

Please do your homework and report back later tonight with how you are wrong.
