I welded four rail brackets for a friend at work. The brackets attach a rail system to the side of the wooden steps. They were necessary to allow the railing on the steps to line up with the railing on the deck, while preserving as much space on the deck as possible. In picture one you see a SolidWorks model showing how the system works. The blue bracket is the one that I welded. It attaches to a pipe that supports the post of the rail system.
Picture 2 to 4 are pictures of my welds.
Pictures 5 and 6 show mounting hardware before the post was installed.
Pictures 7 & 8 show the finished railing.
I thought that my friends railing job came out real nice.
