Decided these are "rodbots". Sorta like robots except they don't move and they are made out of rod. Hey, these guys have to work in my yard. This one is holding back that big grass so my wife can plant more flowers in front of it.grassguy.jpg

Is he related to those guys hanging out in the trees holding the bird houses? I think I see a family resemblance. He could be bad news though, if he gets in a fight with the mower blades in that tall grass.
