Has anyone used the "newer" turn on/turn off magnetic grounds. I saw one at LWS and wondering how well they worked. Are they worth the money?
TIA

Mag switch
Tim, I have two of the Mag Switch ground clamps. 1 is 300 amps, about the size of a beer can in dia. The other is 600 amps, maybe 2.5-3" in dia. They have a grove for pipe. That might work for your fencing. I have them on short whips that can plug in to my leads.
I also have the square clamps, they are amazing, on a straight pull they hold hundreds of pounds.
Don't have them clamping something close to where you are mig welding, It makes the arc do real strange things, you can't even tack, just won't stick.
If you want to try one, stop by sometime I can fix you up, that way you'll know for sure.
Good Luck,

Bob miller,
After reading your post, I want out and bought it. If the thing does work the way I want it to, I'll bring to you.

I just saw your listed city....I lived in Hanford back in '67 while stationed at Lemoore NAS. That is one foggy place to live from Nov to April anyway.

TxDart, it can get foggy! But you have to have water to get fog. This is the first year in ten we actually got rain. You would not recognize the area. Hanford is at 13th ave to the west, Fargo north, at highway 43 and south to well past HA. Go look at google.
