My bad for saying 2/3. In any case the centerline of the axle is 73" from the front of the frame. I used the dimensions from a trailer made by a company called Big Tex Trailers who have been around a long time, so I figure they know trailers. The particular model I copied, somewhat anyway, also used 3 x 2 x 3/16 angle for the tongue as well so I feel confident the trailer will do just fine.

Trailer Looks Great
Hope you make some more progress. I plan on building one similar for my Jeeps. My TJ can only tow 1k pounds so I need to make something light. Do you have an estimate on weight?

More or less finished except for a few little odds & ends. I'm going to make some detatchable fences two feet tall as my wife will use this trailer for her business & carries things that are bulky but not really heavy. Also going to make detatchable ramps for when I need to load a lawn tractor etc.

That looks Great!
I see you did what many think about long after the fact, a front center tiedown ring.
The whole trailer looks very good and I foresee many years of service.Live Right Have Fun
