Hey Dave,
That one weld, by the shock, looks like it was put down with a 12ga shotgun and lead birdshot.
One thing about it, teardown may not be too bad. Looks like an air chisel would bust out most of the welds.
I'd be getting a little concerned that you may be getting a reputation for being a "flake magnet". First the "great" trailer, and now this. Just don't know.
Hope you explained to your bud, that it costs more to redo someone else's mistakes correctly than it does to do the job right the first time. Good luck. Project should "keep you off the streets" for a while. Keep us posted on the updates.

Here is the first of many updates
I started to take this thing apart and the more I see the more I'm amazed that this was driven on the street without killing somebody.
Take a look at some more of these pictures and see what a butcher this guy is that "built" this car. DaveIf necessity is the Mother of Invention, I must be the Father of Desperation!

Goodness Gracious!
I'm sure that you can fix it. I certainly hope that you will be paid properly for the work. Also, why bother painting it?...I mean, it's going to be covered up with mud most of the time, isn't it?.
The welding on the car is simply pathetic and dangerous. Good luck!

Err,,ehh
Don't have much to say here other than I'm glad you got it before someone got hurt.
Making fun of this work (welding) is valid but I hope someone gets the guy that did this and offers some stern advice.
Cars, trucks and anything that can harm or kill (this is where the fun stops) is no place for someone without the proper skills and training.
I hold 4 certifications including HT Structural and I still have my work checked (x-ray/dye etc.) so as to be double sure I don't harm anyone or worse yet kill someone.
I 'm glad most my work is gates and rails!
