I need to install a outlet for my new welder, What would be the best amp breaker I should use? Could I get by using a 40amp Breaker?

You might get by with a 40 amp breaker if you don't push the machine, I would recommend to get a 60 as asked for since you are going to need to wire anyway.

I would sy be sure your lines can hold a 60 amp... to many times i hve seen people overloading there lines tthat come in to the breaker box. turn everything on in your shop and get a amp probe and be sure you have room for another 60 amps..
