Nice idea, but then you'd have to buy a welder and filler and material and learn to weld...

Bob, Bob, Bob. You saw jacks, jacks, jacks. I just can't stand idly by and let you continue to butcher correct piplical terminology. Jacks.

I've never seen a jack with a plate atop it unless it was homemeade but I see em with ball rollers, round rollers, little and big V's all the time.

Hotdogs are sold in "stands", pipe rests comfortably in jacks.

Unless you weld in a "helmet", then you're just too goofy to debate proper terms.

It's like calling an aircraft a jet. Stop it.

    JT : )

I'll add that only thru the sacrifice of life made by many young Americans in uniform across the globe are we able to debate with humor the proper terminology of welding pipe in jacks. All respect to those who died in service to the country in dangerous places and to their friends and families as well. Safe Memorial Day to all.

Ridgid is a company that makes plumbing tools. You can't really expect a plumber outfit to understand proper welded piping terms. I hear they make a good tubing cutter tho. And aluminum pipe wrenches.
I'll add that Ridgid jacks are the worst of the commercially available bunch. Almost to the point of dangerous they're gonna kill somebody.

But the facts remain, pipe jacks are where pipe fabrication takes place.

Good luck with your "helmet". Wear it the next time you ride on a "jet". Or on a "motorbike". It's safer that way.

I don't care what jacks you love, as long as they are Made in America by American citizens. Use with pride.

JT, welding pipe in jacks almost 1,974 times per day : ), smiley face, smiley face.

Makes all the welding arguments seem trivial, doesn't it.
