I have some light duty, outdoor, remote welding to do and the only available power source is a Honda EU2000i generator. I'm told I can expect about 12A continuous output from this generator at 115V.
Anyone have any experience with the Dynasty 200DX on low current 115V stick applications? I'm thinking 3/32" 6013 rods...? Unfortunately I don't have access to the generator to do some testing in the shop. My gut tells me I don't have enough generator.
Thanks.

Can't offer anything about the welder but we've sold Honda for about 30 years.
The little generator will give you 16.6 amps at 120 volts for about 30 minutes
before the overload trips. I'd suspect the "inrush" current when you strike
the arc will be above this, if you can set a parameter on the welder to keep
it below about 20 amps the generator overload may not trip. Be sure to have
the eco-throttle switched off to let the generator to at least have a chance.

This is a cut-and-paste from an old thread from 2008. andySpike is probably a spammer bot. I think you even responded to the old post
