On a new robot wrist design at work we are considering using a friction connection with a coupler on the output shaft of an inline gear head instead of a spline. To validate this concept we needed to test shafts with and without grease for various shaft diameters. The first step was to measure the static torque capacity of this joint. To accomplish this I welded a nut on the end of the shafts to facilitate the use of a torque wrench for the test.

Yeah i would to but where i work there to cheap lol. So its weld stop rotate weld stop rotate lol. Maybe one day theyll let us get modern lol
