Dining Table

It's been a while since I've posted something on here. Work and a trip to Mt. Everest for my birthday got in the way. Had some time off work when I got back and a friend wanted to see if we could build a dining table he had designed. Why not? Made the legs out of 16 gauge steel and boxed them. I wish my TIG skills were better, but I don't have time to practice. I wish I had a break too, but as you can see, there's not much room in the garage. Came out pretty well once he finished all the filler, paint and woodwork.

Thanks HM! It looks a lot more refined now that it's done. I sometimes wonder if everyone uses as many grinding wheels as I do. It all looks good eventually though.

Thanks! I'm about to order a JD2 hydraulic bender, pump, and notcher so I can build a ridiculously over compensating welding cart. I dropped my plasma cutter twice trying to clean up so I need to protect the investment. Yes, I realize I don't need to spend that much on more equipment for a cart, but this will allow me to do even more projects with some really bad welds!

It never ceases to amaze me the fine ideas that welder/fabricators come up with. That is one beautiful table and unique to boot. And I can appreciate the amount of work that went into it, too.

Oh yeah, placed an order this morning on Trick-Tools.com this morning for a JD32 hydraulic pipe bender and Baleigh tubing notcher. Be here in about a week, so hopefully it doesn't rust up before I get home and cut some holes in my table top for bolting some new equipment on.
