My Toyota Landcruiser developed a rattle the other day.
Lying on my mechanics skateboard looking up under it I tightened up all the bolts for a few hours until I found what was making all the noise.
An exhaust heat shield.
It traps dirt and water and rusts out.
Once free it rattles like all F***
After a clean up I curved some 1mm steel sheet and TIG welded it on.
No more irritating noise.
