    Default 69 chev flatbed

    Just something I have been working on for the past couple of weeks.It`s not done yet, but I hope to have it done within the next week.I nead to make a new door for the back, they cut it up side down.

    Hey Billy, that looks great! Too bad the boneheads cut the lettering in upside down. I'm assuming you're going to use that opening for a ramp(s)?
    A flatdeck for my 1 ton dually is my next project. I like that you color matched yours to the truck.

    Stupid question!!! I see your ramp in the first pic. Now I have more questions.
    1. Were'd you find that ramp?
    2. How long and how wides is it (the ramp)?
    3. How much clearance do you have on your tires?
    4. I noticed you have stake pockets, but it doesn't look like you have any tie-down points. With the outside frame being square tube, how are you going to tie-down your loads?

    I found the ramp at a local heavy truck salvage yard,it came out of a box truck.It`s 27'' wide so it fit nice between my frame rails and was 16' long so I cut it down to 8'.For the wheels, I just measured from the top of the axle to the stopper block and raised it up an extra half inch just in case.I also made sure the cross braces were spaced around the rear wheels so I could keep it as low as possible.I realy don`t plan to haul much with it except my motocross bikes, but when the sides are off I can put a strap or chain through the stake pocket holes and hook it on the lip.I also will be putting small tie down rings on the front.

    Cool. I never thought of looking in a salvage yard for a ramp! God, somedays I wonder how I manage to have enough brain power to breath (LOL)! That's how I'm planning clearance for my deck-guess my brain was working for a few hours.
    Anyways, it's a really nice truck. I'd like to see more picks if you have any, inside and out.

    HI silverbackman do you have any truck equipment dealers around you ones that install bodies? if so one of them may have an older one sitting around for cheap. hope you find one garth

    Sorry about that billy very nice looking truck .I like the bed. and is that a full dresser in the corner of the pic?.

    That`s my dads gold wing, I`ve been working on the truck there because my garage is way to small the flat bed alone filled it up.

    Thanks Garth. There's actually quite a few. Come to think of it, there's a UHaul repair centre here. They're bound to have one.
