    Default Why buy "Miller" leads?

These appear to be twice as expensive as other stick welding cables that are available. Better rubber coating? More relaxed/easier to roll-up? I'm buying a new Wildcat 200 and I will need leads.

    Thanks

I have two sets of leads that are Es*** Prene 2/0 cable. One set in the shop with the Marquete and one with the BlueStar 2E on the truck. Never had any problem with them. You don't have to buy Miller Branded on everything. Find the best items that fit within your budget or the amount of money that is in your wallet that you are willing to part with.

    Default check ebay for leads

Best deals I've found for cable were on ebay (AC/DC Electric I think they call themselves) and WeldingSupply dot com (I hope this doesn't violate the forum rules – if so, moderators, please delete).

I believe the cable I bought from ebay was the same brand/type cable Miller used for the work cable included with a TIG machine I bought.

Default Miller leads and trailers are for the "one-stop" shopper

Cyberweld has a 25' Miller lead package for $199. I can go to the local discount welding store and buy (2) 25' leads, 3 lugs, a clamp and stinger of equal quality for about $138. The little trailers ($1600) are double what a new 3'x6' trailer would cost.
It is just a matter of convenience. Heck, a few mom and pop LWS might even bolt the welder on the trailer, put on a cable tree ($168) and install your cables. Put it on visa, hitch it up, and you have an instant service rig.
Make your own leads and save about 30%-40%.

Talking Thing that make you go ummmmmmmmmmm

My goodness. I know that there are filters on the Miller Forum to help protect the inocent among us, i.e. children that might be sitting close to mom and/or dad who might be reading. But to Filter out a Brand Name like E S S E X, a major Wire Manufacturing Company and found on Welding Rigs worldwide, GET A GRIP!!!! I have control stickers on my Well Service truck for use when setting up the Mast. Mast E R E C T I O N, and Mast E X T E N S I O N. But the filter is so PC (Politically Correct) that is might even block former TX Gov. and Former President of the USA, George W. B U S H.
