My partner bought a Sun Conure for my birthday so I decided i would build him a cage. I wanted something that looked a bit more stylish than any cages I have seen in the shops and this is what i came up with. So what do you all think, I would love some feedback good or bad as i am relatively new to designing anything like this. Thanks in advance for any comments.

The only comment I have is about the expanded metal you used for the walls.
Here in the states that stuff has razor sharp edges. I know parrots like to cling to the side of the cage, that has to be rough on their feet.

Sharp edges
Thanks for the feedback, the sharp edges were taken care of with a heck of a lot of filing. The reason i used the expanded metal was all the sguare and rectangle profile meshes just didn't seem to do the design any justice. I think it was definately worth the effort though.

Thank you for the kind words, I am very pleased with the end result myself its good to see all the time and effort finally pay off, the design was based on the chinese garden lanterns, and the original paint job was reall copper with the oxidising patena on it. I was very dissapointed after painting it to find out it was very toxic for birds and then spent about 16 hours sandblasting it off. the hardest part was choosing another colour after picturing it in my head the whole time with copper on it.
