To run a 251 off of a genny, you will need one that is capable of producing around 14Kw.
I get this figure by multiplying the full load amps of the welder (54Amps I think)by 240 volts.
This gives you a figure of 12960Watts. add another 2kw as a safety margin and this is what you will need to provide to the welder in order to run the 251 at full load. If you are running at less than full load, you could get away with a smaller Genny but its not a good idea. Will it weld? I loooove electricity!
Miller 251/30A spool
Syncro200
Spectrum 625
O/A
Precix 5x10 CNC Router12"Z
Standard modern lathe
Cheap Chinese mill that does the trick... sort of...
horizontal 7x12 bandsaw
Roland XC540 PRO III
54" laminator
hammer and screwdriver (most used)
little dog
pooper scooper (2nd most used...)

Hi,
The Millermatic 212 models and under will work off of a Bobcat and Trailblazer, unfortunately, the MM 251 will not work very well. Because it uses SCR's, it requires higher amounts of "peak" currents than our generators can supply. From what I've seen of Guardian generators, they will not power that machine either.Have a great day!
