But this formula is correct. Say you wanna make an eight sided frame of equal length. 45 degrees would be the angle of each piece, 45 x 8 = 360 . So then each end must be mitered at 22.5 degrees to make a 45 degree angle.

so how ever many sides i want i divide that by 360 and thats the angle i cut. Very good to know, i am learning so much just reading what you guys post

after you find the degree of the angle, you cut that in half, thats the angle you set your saw at to cut.
examples,
60degrees X 6sides = 360 circle ---- 30degrees actual saw cut angle
45 x 8 = 360 --- half of 45 is 22.5 thats the actual saw cut you make on the part.Anything you could do, I could do better.

figuring out the angle was tough for me at first, but then i had lunch to clear my head, came back and just laid it out in the carport, tweaked it to make then even, tack welded, then checked again. i got one of those angle finder deals from HF, the protractor type that i used to make sure they were all the same.
oh and it is a 10 sided tableFlash me, Im a Welder
