Lawn Tractor Frame Repair 1

My latest project was welding up the frame on my friend’s lawn tractor. I believe that the tractor was damaged when it was used to plow snow by a past owner. It currently will be used only with the lawn mower deck. We added angle iron on the corner to beef up the frame. To make it really rigid I plug welded it in addition to the fillet welds on the edges of the angle iron.

My friend did appreciate it. He helps me with my jobs all the time. Our latest project is installing a new hydronic furnace in my basement. The sections of the old one, as you can see in the picture, weighed 1100 lbs. We got $94 for the scrap. The new one is the size of a dehumidifier. It isn't really a welding project but soldering is close.
