To start off. I am new to the welding forums. I have been playing around for a few years now making everything I need on our property.
I have been in wood working also for a few more years and receive wood working mag's out my butt, but the question is: Do they have any welding mag's to subscrib to or is it only on the web to find what we need? I buy all the make it and show me books I can find on welding, but I just do not find any monthly mags.
Am I blind or just not looking in the right places? I am looking for ideas on what to make for projects or jigs to make a project faster or easier...
I will say I like a lot of the projects on this site and the others that I have run across so far.... a lot of you guys are pritty inventive and or have **** good projects..
I have been playing with wood for years, but now after the projects I have done and others to come for the mini ranch I plan on playing more with steel....

Not nearly the fascination with welding as with wood. It wasn't until the last 10 or so years that welder became affordable for the common guys in their garage.
If you become a memeber of the American Wwelding Society (aws.org), you'll get the Welding Journal magazine every month. Their is also the fabricator. http://www.thefabricator.com/Default.cfm That's all I can think of for now.

Sorry SignWave for the confution. I like to abrev. to cut down on typing time and the chance of spelling everything wrong.... I will do that a lot, so get your red marker out.

Your wood working background will be a big help how to cut a straight line, useing clamps, and jigs to layout your project make sure it is squaer. Take a welding class at the JC then you can join AWS as a student for only $15. Look in the woodworking mags you'll find somthing that will be way cool made out of steel. some of the hot rod mags have welding stories.
