I have a miller big 40 with an teledyne f163 motor

This year it rained an awful lot and moisture got into valves which in turn after pulling head off the engine seems to be seized up anyone have any ideas should I try to free it up or replace the motor or rebuild the engine what other engines fit this same welder it welds like nothing else except bad engine someone please help I'm lost here

Visit the following website: www.billswelderrepair.com He's in Oklahoma City, OK. Not sure where you live, but a Big 40 is worth repairing. Might want to go through the generator portion, and you'll have a new welder when your done.

Well if the pistons are just frozen, there are 2 methods of unsticking them other than rebuild, one is to add about an inch of WD-40 liquid into the cylinders and let it sit for a couple of days.

Or get yourself some rags and diesel fuel, stick a inch or so in the cylinders with the oil soaked rags and light it up. As long as the pistons are not at TDC, this method tends to work the best as it frees up the cylinders and piston rings through heat and lubrication.
