Hey ck welding very nice project with the trailer and also the truck is way cool. but my question is were about in Jackson do you live? because my wife and I have family that live there, hers live out on Gardner rd by sandstone creek and mine live in town by Longfellow school if you know were the areas are to give you an idea. We live in southern branch county (coldwater area) which is about 45-60min away and we go visit about once a month if we can.

After looking at your project it reminded me of one I did for a former employer that he wanted to haul his front end loader and a commercial mower that he could pull behind a dump truck or his pickup.
So began the project it started with 5"c-channel for the main frame with 2"sq x1/4" sq tube for the center cross braces with daul 7,000lb torx flex rubber ride axles, elcetric brakes on both sets topped of with 1/4" diamond plate tread over the whole deck and for the tongue I put an adjustable pintle mount for the purpose of changeing the head mount from aball mount or a single eye mount for the dump truck hook up. I ended up being just a little over 8' wide outside of wheel wells and 16' long I did this in about a weeks time start to finish with of coures the 3/4"welded tiedowns on the deck, also I made the ramps fold up and they were made out of 1/4x2x2" angle about 4-1/2 to 5' in length and they could slide from side to side on a 1" solid steel rod in the back of the beaver tail with recessed lights and side marker lights to finish off the look. I would really like to have that back after I found out he was scamming mone from the payroll to fund his extra hobbys and saying it was the office ladie who was scamming the money about 155,000-200,000$$ by the time it was all done, WHAT A JACKA$$$.

Thanks guys. The junction box came from etrailer.com. Pretty good site. I live a little East of 127N, slightly south of Parnall Rd. The temporary is actually one of the original pieces of the trailer I cobbled on the front of my truck as a fairlead holder so I get my truck out for a quick trial run. Haven't had time to finish my real bumper yet. With people always taking pictures of my truck, I didn't want anybody thinking I was proud of the way that looked.

nice rig
I know this is an old thread, but its the first thing that came up in google under "home built car hauler." I must say, what an outstanding build. I love everything you did with the trailer, everything is good and heavy duty. I am about to start a similar project, and yours helps me know i can do it! Nice truck too, i see you're in jackson, I live over just west of detroit, maybe we'll bump into each other on the trails some day. Cant miss my big yellow jeep cherokee on 35's

Thanks. Let me know if you need a hand or advice with anything.
The trailer is still serving me very well. Getting ready to put fenders and a toolbox on it soon.

ck, nice trailer and love the truck. what program are you using to draw the bumper? Will that generate separate CAD files for each of those small pieces to get cut? very cool.

Cad program is Solidworks. Yes, each part is drawn as a separate entity, then brought together in the assembly you see there.

That is real nice bumper, I'm planning on building one for my s10 very similar. What gauge steel did you use? also, do you mind sharing that solidworks file? If not I understand.
