Some boring pics.

These parts are for forum member Scott, Strength and Power. Its too cold to weld in my unheated garage and my basement is nice and toasty. So he needs some heavy wall tube bored out for his projects. I made a heavy duty boring bar using my metal shaper. Then i use my lathe to remove a 1/4" of metal. It would have been easier to bore 1/2 way then turn it around but the hole goes to a shoulder so that wouldn't work it has to be from one end. Oh well back to my boring job ...Bob

Bob is a helluva nice guy and his boring job got me out of a pinch when I did a bonehead move and ordered the wrong tubing, (needed .250 wall). Leaving the shoulder at the bottom also eliminated a welding step and cut down some production time. Here is what the finished product goes on. It is used for athlete conditioning.

I have 21 coming back to you tomorrow then only 24 to go. That boring bar really saves some time. 15 parts will make enough chips to fill a wheelbarrow...Bob

Sounds good, I am in sunny Miami until the end of the month, glad to swap the pants for shorts. Pretty funny to see the locals bundled up in parkas, gloves, scarves etc when the temp is 58 deg
