What I'm complaining about is our elected officials lining there own pockets with foreign or domestic payoffs at the expence of the people there representing.Mega Arc try some liquid wrench or PB blaster for lossening up the stuck stuff, wd 40 is for moisture displacement.

There are only 2 tools needed in a tool box. 1) Duct tape to fix any thing that moves that isn't supposed to. 2) WD40 to fix anything that doesn't move but should.

Yeah and that's what makes the pill even more bitter to swallow!!! We taught them to fly the planes. I know all of our forefathers were immigrants but it has to stop somewhere or all of us who have been born here won't be able to find gainful employment. We need to say to heck with everyone else and look after our own first, then if there is anything left over then maybe but only to the few who actually have something or a skill to contribute to the U.S. economy. I also think we need to close the ports of entry to foreign made goods too, Americans should want to buy American and not Chinese.

I got into a heated argument with my sister last night... unemployed unmarried welfare mom wrecking her life and taking her kids down the drain with her. And she had the nerve to tell me that I'm a fool to work for less money than I'm worth.

    And today, it hit me.

That's the deal. That's the heart of this battle between yen and yang.

You have a market that's not willing to pay people enough to sustain the American Dream. And you have a potential labor pool that refuses to work for less than they think they are worth.

One could argue that the vast majority of workers aren't worth quite what they think they are, and I could agree with that. From the 60's on, we've combated teen suicide by overdosing them on self esteem to the point that they all have Narcissistic Personality Disorder. These little self-lovers have come of age and they make up a good deal of the potential labor pool now.

That's what this nation has become. A nation of narcissists. Those in high places do everything they can to spite those below them. Such as selling this huge job to the Italians.

And those in low places do everything they can to spite the ones that do things like that. And so the vicious cycle spins and it gets thicker and thicker.

If you believe Adam Smith and David Ricardo, this situation doesn't exist and everything is peachy.

If you believe John Maynard Keynes, John Nash, and Karl Marx, then a socioeconomic catastrophe 50 years in the making is about to come to a head.

    The answer:

Thank you for taking the time to contact TxDOT with your comments and concerns.

It is important to note the following facts regarding this issue. TxDOT's
mission and statutory authority is in the realm of building and maintaining
state roads and the federal interstate system. TxDOT has not been given the
    authority to enforce immigration laws.

The prime contractor is responsible for ensuring compliance with immigration
    laws.

We are responsible to ensure workers are paid properly and we have conducted
interviews to comply with the Davis-Bacon Act.

A concern was raised, so we contacted the contractor. The contractor informed
us that Cimolai hired a Dallas area immigration attorney prior to coming to
America to ensure compliance with all applicable immigration laws. The attorney
verified that all Williams Bro. Construction agreements regarding the B-1 visas
issued to the iron welders and installers was in full accordance with the
federal regulations and the Foreign Affairs Manuel.

Cimolai sold a complete product which includes the welding and piecing together
of steel pieces. Their workers are highly specialized to complete this work to
deliver the finished product. Logistics necessitated the completion of assembly
of the product to occur on site.

Buy America laws allow for the purchase of foreign products if it is 25% cheaper
than what is available in the United States and the Italian steel met this
exception and included the labor to deliver a completed product.
