I love to hear good stories about machine finds. I have found plenty myself. If there is one thing I have learned, it is to be patient with regards to machine tools.

I lived in Charlotte NC for a while, right in the thick of Nascar central, the saw came from a shop owned by Dale Jr's pit gas guy, and the Dynasty 300 I have came from the Ernhart chassis shop

While I'm not huge into Nascar, I thought it was cool that the 2 machines have history behind them..

    Yes it is.

All I need is a coil of blade, it came with about 15 different ones. It will be a while untill those are used up, so no need for the welder yet..

That would be cool. I love to rip it hard on about anything.
But as I sit here in front of my computer with my doctor telling me for the 5th week now I cannot lift anything with my right arm...maybe I need to chill.
Maybe that little light bulb came on a bit late now (ie... I'm a dumb@$$)

That could be a fun project, 4130 correct?

One question though, why run the brake bar to the frame instead of the swingarm, a more positive feel through the chasis?

The bar you see does not run from the brake but from the diff.Moto Guzzi are shaft driven, and by having a floating diff gearcase with a torque bar parallel to the swingarm back to the frame, you cancel out any torque reaction.Actually by moving the mounting point up or down at the frame end of the torque bar,you can dial in how much squat there will be under acceleration.Or you can have it completely neutral.Obviously the out in the open drive shaft has a "u" joint at each end to comply. The thing for me is to find a frame jig that wont kill my budget.Check out the rising rate rear shock linkage, get that one wrong and it'll handle like a bag of sh!t on bumpy corners! Here is a picture of a different parallelogramo swingarm kit i have now.
