PraxAir proprietary gas question Stargon VS

I need to renew my bottle leases and happened to see this gas demonstrated at an open house on Friday. I was wondering if any one has experience with StargonVS gas in a 350P machine. Their paper literature has set up parameters for my machine and the weld samples they had looked good but I would still like some real world user input. Thanks, JEFF

What is the mix ratio?

Miller tested the 350P and found it to run best on 90/10 Ar/CO2, which is what they recommend to use in the manual. When I talked to them about using alternative mixes, they said that in testing the 350P with various other gas mixes, their second choice is 95/5 Ar/CO2. I asked them about using 92/8 Ar/CO2 and 98/2 Ar/O2 and they didn't recommend those or anything else. I have always mine on 98/2 and it does take some adjusting of the settings to make it run good. Next time I have the bottle filled, I'm going to try 95/5.

Desert; I think " Stargon VS " by Praxair is - 82% Argon- 10%Helium-8%Co2
I could be wrong, but that is what I was lead to believe ?

Frank , Hi; I dunno, there was a thread about this quite a while ago, I just jotted it down. Now that I think about it , it was for Stainless Steel ?
To be honest I can't remember ? Yes I'm looking at my notes, the other reference was to your first example of Helium 90%- Co2- 8% & O2- 8% ?
