Going in to weld on the frame required splitting the unit, removing the cushion hitch, and the motor. Magnetic arc blow is a major problem here as the whole piece is shaped like a giant horseshoe magnet. Yep some one been here before me with limited success. You can see where they tried welding halfway up the bracket with 1/8 7018. Bad part is that there be a single pass on 3/4 in metal so it just cracked again. After completion and painting looks like it was never welded on. Didn't get a pic of that, trust me the boss is happy.![]()

I think you earned your pay on that job. Heavy equipment repair is in a category all it's own. I don't do much in that direction, but lots of Class 8 specialized oilfield hauling equipment, and rental equipment.
