Default Anyone ever build a CNC table for router or plasma cutting?

I've found several sets of plans and even several commercial units that wil work with my hypertherm, and CNC woudl open up a HUGE door for me in the decorative market. Now buying a machine can be from 6 to 15 thousand dollars (and these are the "affordable units") and building one seems to range from between 500 and 1500 dollars, plus by building the cash outlay is spread over time.

Anyone got any tips or able to oiffer any advice, help, or places i could source large servos or stepper motors and the gear pieces?

ANd if anyone has built their own i'd love to see pics. I think i spent 6 hours the other night searching and studying plans, pics and commercial units, but am starting to loose drive, so i think I may start the actual cutting table today so i can use it and be able to attach the CNC parts wehn i can get and learn to hook them up and use them.

Didn't make one, but we just started the ordering process for a DynaCNC 5x10 plasma table, servo motors, underwater cutting, Oxy/Acetylene set-up, blah, blah, blah.

    48k.

There are advantages to making one yourself. Namely it's cheaper.....but we're so busy we don't even have time to think about that.

I will report our findings once we take delivery and start using it. Maybe a couple of months down the road.....
