    Default Weekend project

I wanted to build a security post to lock my Jet ski's too, so I came up with this. Security tower that I will bolt to the concrete drive beside my work shop.

I'm posting a few pictures of the project.

    Hope you enjoy them.

    Default Weekend Project final

    Final pictures of the project.

I used my Miller 165 tig. to weld everything. Used my Hobart plasma cutter to cut the hole for the 2" ball. Sand blasted it then I powder coated it with my cheap HF powder coating set up. It just fit in the oven at an angle to bake.

Next weekend I will bolt it to the driveway beside the shop.

    Hope you enjoyed the pictures.

    Thanks for looking.

    All comments welcome.

    Default Weekend project bolted down

    ligito,

Well here are the pictures of the finished project.

I bolted it to the driveway of the shop and locked the Wave Runners to it.

I also, spot welded the nuts to the treads in a small spot on each of the

anchors so the nuts will be harder to remove, but I could grid it off

if and when I want to move or remove it.

    Thanks for looking.

I have alwase wondered what I could do to protect my trailers with a gooseneck hitch. I suppose I could make one with 2'' tubing and add caster to the bottom of the jacks so i could move it side to side.

    AlphaRat,

The powder coating machine from HF works great for the price. I have been using it for a few years now and it's easy to use.

I was fortunate to find an old stove some one was throwing away and I stripped off the top burners and wires leaving only the oven I built a cart for it and wired it to plug into my welding outlet.

The only down side is that I'm limited to what I can powder coat due to the size of the oven.

I just weld, clean the part, powder coat, bake at 400 deg. for 15 - 20 minutes and it comes out looking great. plus it's a lot more durable that paint.
