Could you please write if the electrode for welding 3.5 Nickel A333 Gr3 material is stopped from production and is not available in the market? Electrodes 7018-C2L / E8016-C2 are designated in our specification. If these electrodes are not available then what is the alternative electrode that can be used as the impact test requirement is -101 deg.C. Can 7018G be used ?
Please advise on an urgent basis.

Try Lincoln's knowledge base. If you can't find the answer there you can email them and they will give you an answer.
Lincoln: Eagle 10,000, Weld-Pak HD, Weld-Pak 155, AC-225, LN-25 wirefeeder
Miller: Syncrowave 250DX Tigrunner
Westinghouse: 400+ amp AC
ThermalArc Handy wirefeeder
1 Harris, 3 Victor O/A rigs
Arcair gouger
Too many other power toys to list.
Do it right, do it once. And in all things ya get what ya pay for.

3.5 Nickel Electrode
Thanks Rogers!
I have written to Lincoln, Esab, Oerlikon and Kobe Steel and yet to receive any reply from them.

You can use one of these 8018 - C1
designed for welding 2% to 4% nickel bearing steels for low temperatures
OR
8018 C- 2
designed for welding 2% to 4% nickels steels also designed for low temerature
I cant find a 8016 -C2 or 7018 - C2L

3.5 Nickel Electrode
Hi
Here my contractor is planning to weld with E7018G which has only 0.5% Nickel for root and the rest of passes with E 8018-C2. But can E 7018G be used for welding A333 Gr3 material?
They say that the dilution effect of hot pass will blend the metallurgical properties of E 7018G and hence can be used.

Okay this A333 Gr3 material the only thing that comes close to this is
Nickel steels are 2015,2115,2 1/2% ni steel,2315,2320,2330,2340.
and
medium nickel - Chromium steel and they are 3115,3125,3130,3140,3150,3215,3230,3240,3250,3315, 3325,3435,3450.
I would have to say NO.

3.5 Nickel Electrode
Darmik
Thanks for throwing some light on the subject.
API RP 582 restricts welding 3.5 Nickel to 3.5 Nickel material with E80XX-C2 or E70XXC2L.
It also seems that E7018G is limited to impact toughness upto -46 Deg.C
