    Default tig electrode contamination question

Hello newbie here, my 3/32 electrode is turning black where the electrode is held by the collet. Is this normal? I'm running argon at 15cfh. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Thomas

That's a sign that your post flow is too low. Mine works at 6 seconds for 3/32" tungsten and the smalller pieces i weld.

Or you are waving it about right after the weld is done and air is getting to it when it is still red
