Got my air compressor mounted. 13 HP Kohler, electric start, 30 gallons at 175 PSI, 25 CFM 100% continuous duty.
Got a great deal on it at Tractor Supply of all places.
Next up are cable reels which should be here next week, and Monday I'm gonna head down to the LWS and order my wire feeder, freek box, aluminum spool gun and some miscellaneous cables.

It's an awesome compressor.
I urge you to shop around though, as I did.
There are 2 models, one with and one without an alternator. $1999 and $2199 in my Northern 2008 Hardcover Fall & Winter Master Catalog. (Lift gate delivery to your driveway is usually not included in their free freight offers.)
I bought the one without the charging system because I ran cables from the compressor to my TB 302 battery for starting duties. Since the TB will handle keeping the battery charged, there is no need to spend a couple hundred extra dollars on something not needed.
My local Tractor Supply had this compressor for $1899.
I got them to give me 10% off.
I paid $1794 out the door. I'm very happy with that.Big 40 Deluxe

Number 1 What type of work do you chase?
What are the advantages of a trailer over say a flatbed rig.

Since this is something I do in my spare time, I chase whatever pays me well.
I can do any process in any position, so I tend to not shy away from much. I am not a pipe fitter though, nor do I pretend to be. I have no certs in pipe. Most of what I do at work is plate, structural members, and repair. Steel, aluminum, and armor plate.
There are only 2 advantages to a trailer that I know of. First being cost. A trailer is much cheaper than a truck.
Second advantage is being able to drop the trailer at a SECURE worksite and leave for supplies, lunch, whatever, without having to tear your set up down only to set everything back up once you return to work.Last edited by Number 1; 02-15-2009 at 06:50 AM. Reason: spelling
