My first ever tig weld, if you can call it that...
I'd like some tips on where to start. This is actually not my first, but the best () of my first attempts.
The material is 3/8" flat bar mild steel.
It seems like I'm having to roll the control up high before I get any sort of puddle, but as you can see it also melted my cup/tungsten... what am I doing wrong? I have the Dynasty at 200A. I had it at 120 and I didn't seem to be getting anywhere.
Thanks!
PS - yes, I am trying to teach myself (at least myself and the internet). Yes, I am sure a better way would be to take a course at a community college. I work a lot and that isn't really an option.
