that is a "Drooper" (constant current) type power supply.. and not really intended to run mig... ideally you will have a "constant votage" power supply to run MIG....
but you can do MIG with a VS (voltage sensing) feeder.... with this type of power supply..

look at the Voltage Sensing section.. in the Miller feeders..

Lincoln and others make voltage sensing feeders as well as Miller....The more you know, The better you know, How little you know............................. (Old Estonian Saying)

But for the price of one of those feeders you can buy a small mig welder that will weld mig wire a lot better.
A VS feeder on a CC welder will only weld large flux core wire fair. 035 MIG wire not well at all.Glenn 300 amp stick

Heliwelder manual
A friend has a much-loved:
on the Orange/white case.Code:250 Ampere AC/DC Heliwelder Airco 0475 1341-0178
and needs a manual, hopefully with schematics. I understand it may have been made by Midstates, Miller, or ESAB.
Suggestions?

ESAB, and you while you may find a wiring diagram, actual board schematics you won't find anywhere....

250 Ampere AC/DC Heliwelder Airco 0475 1341-0178
ESAB admits paternity but says they have no documentation left; they sent it to someone in California who has recently stopped supporting such.
Any suggestions for someone else; perhaps a repair facility in the Cleveland/Pittsburgh area? [Such may cost more than the unit is worth, I fear...]Last edited by Usually Befuddled; 10-02-2012 at 11:59 AM.
