Is anyone doing any aluminum brazing? I've got a killer brazing rod that will do just about anything. One rod is 900 degrees melting and 1100 degrees melting for the other. Flux cored and awesome!

aluminum brazing rod
I use it for brazing condensers, evaporators, and for making hard lines for a/c system. I'm not selling it. I looked for a long time before I found anything that was any good. My relatives own Westair, which is a welding supply house in San Diego and Yuma. They don't carry it. It is flux cored and the aluminum doesn't have to be spotless. The company that sells it is in Arkansas, I think. It is called Doc's Blocks. That is also the name of the website. I did buy the torch that they sell, but it is for propane and I just use my O/A setup on my service truck.

Your relatives wouldn't happen to be the old San diego welders supply would they?? They were my supplier of choice, Sorry to say that the Oceanside office and Escondido office had poor customer service after Westair took over. Haven't been back in five years so I hope things have changed.

Westair/SD Welders Supply
It's the same company. They changed names when they went out of state. The owner, Andy Castiglione, sort of retired. His son, Steve, is running the show. Sorry about your bad experience. I might get a different service, since I have a family account. I usually deal with the El Cajon branch. I'll let them know about your problem.
Thanks,

Yeah I was wondering because they were the weld supplier for a few shops I worked for. I think the customer service deal is hiring idiots. it happens everywhere. Good to see the family still owns it though.
