I have a chance to pick up a nice clean used millermatic DVI for $750. I was wondering if this is more powerfull then the mm180. It would be taking the place of my mm135. Also can it truely weld up to 3/8 like it says?

The DVI is more powerfull than the MM 180 when plugged into 230 input power and that would be a good price for one.
It also has the bigger drive assembly which feeds the wire better and can use the large spools of wire if you need to use that much wire.
I'd say go for it.

I have a DVI and yes, it will weld 3/8" easily. The duty cycle of the DVI is also a little better than the MM180.

Thanks guys the person wants $800 not $750 but i still think i'm going to get it, now i have to get rid of my mm135.
