I am swapping mufflers on my truck and my exhaust tubing is aluminized stainless and my new muffler is stainless. Will I have to switch to stainless wire to get a good weld? What would happen if I welded it in with regular .030 wire and steel mix 75/25 gas? thanks, Brian

the weld would not be rust resistant. but you can get a solid weld, you just lose its rust controle propertys.

The rust will propagate from the weld into the SS as well rusting the entire thing.
