    Default a quick pic of a long job

    10inch s40 generator exhaust hidden within downtown chicago. in a 4 story shaft that has no access except for from the floor. No cranes, timber rigging at the top of the shaft.

    Never mind the project, Being a graphics oriented person I like your photography. Is that about 14mm lense?

    I have a 10mm (digital) wide angle that shoots about the same.

    its a 15mm canon on a 5d. Full frame digital baby. Im a photo jerk first then a weld jerk second. my photos www.softinsurgency.com

    nice photos. I love to shoot but I have to take about a million to get one good one. 5d is a nice camera, I saved forever to get my 300d and I'm gonna use it for a while.

    in photography, with quantity comes quality. ask gary winogrand. shoot millions its worth it for the one.

    the no crane factor was the biggest challenge. Couldnt get permits necessary to block a street for the 60 ton needed to make the reach over the shaft. all post tension concrete, using hilti half inch mini shells to hang our chainfalls, then a bunch of 6x6 timber across the top of the shaft to hang our top chainfalls. needed scaffold to get to the top brackets and welds. the longest fab we could lift was 10 feet, and our pipe came in 5 foot sections because there was no way 10 footers could be brought into the generator room, theres about 18 inches on each side of the generator. and the door was at the top of a parking garage ramp.
