Thread: frying pan rack

  1. #1

    Default frying pan rack

Built this pan rack and I am having it powdercoated. Anyone have an idea on some kind of an adhesive backed product that I could apply to it on each level to keep the pans from tearing it up. Or any other suggestion. Thanks --

I would think powder coat is plenty tuff on its own.

As long as the pans are not hot when put on the rack powder coating should be fine. It would take the pans being loaded, unloaded, many, many times to wear the coating off. Lots of cooking.

I enjoy metal-fab, what ever the use. Thanks for the pics. To me, that's thinking out side the box.

Maybe cork, depending on the color scheme. Although it would need occasion replacement.

If black, the fuzzy side of Velcro would probably last forever.

    Default Oh man...

That's not a pan rack! It's a mother in laws holster! Paint it camo and hurl it in the bushes for Pete sakes.

you might use the pads you put in toolbox drawers.

Wish I'd thought of that at my old house. it had the smallest kitchen on earth.

    Scott,

If I had built that, I wouldn't want to cover it at all! It looks really nice like it is. It's pretty easy to polish out a scratch or two should they appear.

If the pans are going in washed and dried, why don't you just spray some clear coat on it? (so you won't have to buff it out as often)
