Argon tank prices
I paid $32 for my last 336 cu ft tank.
2 months ago it cost $28 and I was a little upset but after seeing these prices, I am not complaining.
Work in PA but my welding distributor (Superior Welding) is in Pennsauken, NJ.
I don't pay haz mat fees and wonder if it might be because I own my tank which I bought from Superior about 33 years ago.
I just swap it out for a filled one each time so I don't pay for a hydro.

Latest price at Airgas:
I just paid $51 out-the-door for a 125CF refill of C-16 (their version of C-25). He said it would be $96 out-the-door to refill my 250CF, which isn't much of a savings.

Likewise on taking care of scuba tanks, (empty tanks are a NO/NO) I have vis checked many empty tanks and found rust, and the guy was ticked when I told him they would at the least have to be tumbled before I would fill them!
Aluminum tanks will corrode and steel will rust (wonder how much rust is in our Welding gas tanks)??
I paid $30 for 150cf Argon from Airgas and when I purchased the 330 they told me it would be $40 to fill it (( I will hold them to it)) when I return mine on Thursday---they told me they charge less per CF for the large tank fills here in Vanc WA/Oregon.

If I pay cash $40.00 for a 210, credit $65.00. I think the cash may be under the table?

Hey, Nocheepgas, where are you getting your fills. I don't mind paying cash for fill, but the only rate I have found is almost double what you are paying.

I think hazmat fees are related to high-pressure cylinders as much as to do with hazardous gases. C25 is sure not dangerous, but the bottle/projectile thing is. The fee is just another way for government to get money.
