    Default Which Aluminum is this

A while back I got a receiver dish about 8 ft diameter made from extruded aluminum. I cut it apart and have the scrap for practice and projects. Would anyone have any idea what grade it might be and the best rod to tig it? It tigs with ER4043 ok but I wouldn't say great. I don't have much experience with this so I don't how a really good grade would tig like. Any suggestions on what aluminum is good for tig projects and the rod used. I have a Syncro

Holes?...You want holes? How bout I send you my practice pieces? With all the holes.......they could be stitched together with leather straps. When I took my scrap to the recycler, they said they could only give me half the going rate...............due to the welds

Amarillo, TX is NORTH of the Red River, but still SOUTH of the Mason-Dixon Line. By your logic, everyone in the Texas Panhandle are Yankees. I think they might just take offense to that. Guess its a good thing I live on one of the seven fingers of the Brazos River.
