All,
Another question from the new guy –
Where can you find supplies such as angel brackets, square tube and most important ¼” plate.
I’d like to build a solid welding table, somewhere in the neighborhood of 4’X6’ (approx).
Jim
PS: I'm in the Lansdale PA area (just outside of Phila.) And I'd rather not have to go to the city for any of this if I can help it.

If you don't have a steel supplier near you, try some welding shops, even Home Depot and Lowes carry some steel [usually small sizes and no plate]. You can get stuff on line but freight usually eats you up.
Enco, MSC, Travers and others sell brackets too and some material but like I said freight will cost you unless its small
On a side note, if your local area allows it .......the landfill or transfer station is great a place for scrap but most probably recycle it now
happy hunting

HMW,
That's what I was afraid of. . . I'll have to fire up my metal detector and start out early for my hunt.
Thanks for the reply.

Hey Heavy, sorry I can't help you out but I go to Henry Louis in the city.
What's wrong with the city anyway?
I used to live not too far from you in Towamencin.
I'd say forget about "finding" scrap. Scrap prices are so high it's hard to find and nobody will give it up.
Good luck with it.

Hey Jim, do you know where New Hope, Pa or Lambertville, NJ is? Call information and get the number for Finkles(Finkels?) in Lambertville, NJ. They can hook you up with whatever you need and good prices too. I'll be there tomorrow. Only about 45 minutes from you. Dave

phila.renewal, turbo38t
Thanks for the info. I just looked up Finkles on-line. Cool stuff, its exactly what I was looking for. Though they don't post prices on-line, I'll give them a call to find out ballpark prices later today or tomorrow.
Hey phila.renewal, I used to live in the NE & Olney and have worked/ or have been in just about every part of the city. I know it all too well how Philly is (good & bad). I just prefer to steer clear of it these days, if at all possible.
I grew up thinking I'd always live in Phila. You can take the guy out of Philly, but you can't take Phila out of the guy.
Thanks again, and maybe some day I'll be able to help out the way this site has helped me.
Jim
