No. My aux power works fine.
There are 3 110v plugs on it. The heavy square single plug on the right only provides proper power with the engine in high rpm (3000 rpm) aka weld mode.
The double receptacle plugs to the left can be used with the welder set to "power" mode which...

I have one I use frequently.
They weld nice. Mine has the Tecumpseh engine. The only complaint I have is its loud. The little spark arrester muffler doesn't do much to reduce noise.

For the carbons your using, you don't need even close to 800 amps. That's way too much current for 1/4" and 3/8" carbons.
I hapily run 5/16" carbons at 350 amps.
Is your machine not gouging properly? How have you verified your amps/arc voltages?

replied to A/C weld output - trailblazer
I honestly can't remember the last time I wished I had AC. That's why Miller got rid of it on the trailblazer.

Arc blow and DC only welders are just something you have to deal with in the industrial world. You learn to deal with it or you get sent home.

    replied to Tiging cast iron
I've tig welded cast iron several times with good results. I used certanium cast iron rod. Most recently I tig welded some cast iron bases/floor mounts for restaurant tables. They turned out well.
